Thanks so much for visiting my website. I’d like to take this opportunity to tell you about myself.

I have been in private practice as a psychotherapist and personal coach for over 20 years. During that time, I have assisted individuals, couples and groups with a wide variety of emotional issues. Presently, my work has a specialized focus on adults and couples. My goal is to provide a confidential, warm and caring atmosphere within my office practice.

My philosophy is that within life’s challenges are opportunities for growth and healing. To this end, my practice includes an educational approach that fosters self-discovery and empowerment. It is truly my passion to teach my clients the life skills necessary to create satisfying and successful lives.

In my practice, I address these challenging issues:

Marriage and relationships
Life transitions
Depression
Anxiety
Grief and Loss
Trauma
Self-esteem
Personal Coaching
The emotional aspects of infertility

…..And more

I graduated with honors from Adelphi University, New York, where I received my masters in clinical social work.

I am a Certified EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapist, and have also received training in:

Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy
Tikkun Relational Therapy for Couples
Hendricks Conscious Relationship Training
Personal Coaching
Body-Centered Psychotherapy
EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique)
Clinical Hypnosis

Over the last 20 plus years, I have conducted seminars and presentations in person and on radio, and have been published on a number of occasions in both clinical and mainstream publications. Most notably, I have been published in the International Journal of EMDR Practice and Research, Winter 2012 Issue, and am a contributing author in the book, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing: EMDR Scripted Protocols. I have also served as adjunct professor at Valencia College where I designed and taught continuing education classes for other mental health professionals.

I have served on the advisory board for Conceive Magazine, an award winning lifestyle magazine for women, and for five years, wrote the column, Emotionally Speaking. My book, I Am More Than My Infertility: 7 Proven Tools for Turning a Life Crisis into a Personal Breakthrough, is available on www.amazon.com

My professional associations include EMDRIA (EMDR International Association), International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT), and NASW (The National Assocation of Social Workers). Marina is also a member of the Steering Committee for the local EMDR Trauma Recovery Network.
